Application and Enrollment for the 2024/25 Winter Semester

Dates and deadlines for bachelor’s degree programs and the first state examination in Law

  • June 1, 2024 – July 15, 2024, application period for undergraduate degree programs with admission restrictions.
  • August 15, 2024 – September 15, 2024, enrollment period for undergraduate degree programs without admission restrictions (for advanced semesters of study only).

Dates and deadlines for master’s degree programs

  • April 2, 2023 – August 15, 2024, application period for master’s degree programs without admission restrictions (not related to teacher education). Please refer to https://www.uni-potsdam.de/en/studium/application-enrollment/application-master-applicationportal for information on whether you need to apply through this portal, uni-assist, or directly with the relevant Examining Board of the master’s degree program.
  • August 15, 2024 – October 15, 2024, enrollment period for non-teaching-oriented master’s degree programs (an admission notification is needed to submit an application for enrollment).

Dates and deadlines for doctoral studies/structured PhD programs

  • August 15, 2024 – October 15, 2024, enrollment period for structured PhD programs
  • August 15, 2024 – January 15, 2025, enrollment period for doctoral students

All stated deadlines are cut-off dates. If the end of the cut-off period falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or a legal holiday, then the period does not extend to the end of the next working day, Section 1 subsection 1 of the Administrative Procedure Act for the Federal State of Brandenburg (Verwaltungsverfahrensgesetz für das Land Brandenburg – VwVfGBbg) in conjunction with Section 31 subsection 3 sentence 2 of the Administrative Procedure Act (Verwaltungsverfahrensgesetz – VwVfG).

You can register here. Please make a note of your access data as they are required for future portal access. Your registration e-mail may be delayed (up to 24 h). Please be patient and do not register again.

The self-registration may only be carried out once. Multiple registration will result in the prevention of the entire application.

Make sure that you enter a valid and correct e-mail address in the application portal and regularly check the e-mails of the University of Potsdam. They often contain important and useful information for you.
Please make sure that e-mails from the sender bewerbungs-info@uni-potsdam.de are not sorted out by your filter criteria (spam folder) and that your mailbox has sufficient storage capacity to receive the information at any time. If you have an account at Microsoft Mail Service (e.g “hotmail.de”, “hotmail.com”, “msn.com”, “outlook.de”, and “outlook.com”), you should whitelist @uni-potsdam.de; see the following link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QGUNQv9kcg

Please do not use the enter key on the portal pages! Use an up-to-date web browser. Older browser versions may encounter display problems. In order to guarantee that you can use the portal smoothly, you should activate JavaScript and cookies in your browser. Please don’t use the browser in the private or incognito mode. Errors may occur.

During the application process, you will be asked to upload documents to the University Admissions Portal. In general, PDF is supported up to a size of 10 MB. In some sections, you may be asked to combine attachments into one PDF file. In order to avoid problems when creating the documents, we summarized some ways to do so in the help section.
